Under a dark, reddening sky, riders play kökbörü on a snowy field: players in red and white shirts, some in white kalpak hats, crowd together on their chestnut horses to seize the goat (ulak) between them. Painted in Bishkek in 2010 and more than five metres wide, it is among the painter's largest canvases.
