A section of a long migrant caravan: in front, a standing figure with a white scarf wrapped about the face and, beside it, a woman sunk to the ground; behind them laden horses and carts on snowy ground. Güngör (2020) writes that the shock of migration can be read in the collapsed figure, and that patches of light and shadow set the figures firmly in their space.
